Mandatory Field Day Shirts

IMPORTANT!

Parents, we are asking that all students order a field day shirt for $6. Our goal is that all students will wear the lime green tiger shirt on field trips so that our students are easy to identify.

We will be going on field trips later in the year where other Harmony Schools will also attend. Last year, our Kinder and First Grade classes attended the children’s theatre along with three other Harmony Schools. Every child from Harmony had the exact same red shirt and uniform pants on, causing unnecessary confusion among students, parent chaperones, and teachers.

With everyone’s cooperation, our goal is for smooth, fun and safe field trips. Parents are also welcome to purchase shirts so that students can easily identify the chaperones from their school.

Tardy Students

ATTENTION PARENTS!!
If your child arrives after 8:00 A.M.
 they are tardy!
You must bring them to the front office and sign them in. Teachers that are on duty for the drop-off lane will come inside when the bell rings at 8:00 A.M. For the safety of our students, you may not allow your child to walk up the ramp to their classroom if there are no teachers standing outside to assist your child to his/her classroom.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this safety issue.

1st Six Week's Awards Assembly

Harmony’s first six week awards assembly will be held this Friday, October 12th from 8:15-8:55 A.M. in the main cafeteria. All parents are welcome to attend. Please make sure you sign in at the front office if you do decide to join us Friday morning.

I am so proud of all of my students. They have done an amazing job this first six weeks of school. I can’t wait to see how great the rest of the year is together!

Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Letter Exchange

Our class is involved in a Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Letter Exchange. This is a project where 26 classes from all across America, and even Canada, share different letters of the alphabet. Each class picks one letter to represent and mail to all the other schools. By the end of the exchange we will have a complete alphabet of letters from across the country. Our class has the letter W, so we made 26 watermelon Ws to send to each of the schools.

Yesterday, we finally got to mail our letters! Each student got to place their own watermelon W, along with a class letter about our school and the great state of Texas, in their own envelope. They each sealed their envelopes as well as placed the address and return address labels on their envelopes. Then, as a class, we walked our letters to the front office to be mailed.

We can’t wait to complete our class alphabet and see where all the letters come from! Here is what we have so far:

October Family Project

I wanted to share some of the wonderful October family projects that have been turned in so far. These students did a fantastic job disguising their pumpkins! These students have designed a unique costume for their pumpkin to wear. There is no way the farmer is going to pick these clever pumpkins!
