In the classroom I believe that parents should be involved in the discipline procedure. Rules, consequences, and rewards should not end when students walk out of the classroom. When children see parents and teachers working together as a team, it helps them make better choices throughout the day. In addition to the campus discipline plan, found in your student handbook, our class has our own rules, consequences, and rewards.
Our classroom rules are:
- Follow Directions Quickly
- Raise Your Hand for Permission to Speak
- Raise Your Hand for Permission to Leave Your Seat
- Make Smart Choices
- Keep Your Dear Teacher Happy
To help students follow and be accountable for our classroom rules, we have the following behavior plan set up for our class.

Every student will start out on green. Depending if they make positive or negative choices, their clip will be moved up or down on the chart.
Every student will start the year with an ordinary clip. When a student makes it to Amazing Day they will receive a sticker on their name clip. When they reach five stickers they get to trade in their old clip for a new colored clip. They will start with red and make their way up to a purple clip. After purple, the student will be able to trade in for a glitter clip-their final goal!
