Dear Parents,
Your child received a monthly calendar for your child to work on every night. I have seen your child excel at different
reading assignments given to them in class. For some extra nightly homework, I feel
it will benefit your child the most to focus on his/her writing skills.
Each night has a different
writing prompt for your child to work on. He/ She is to write a paragraph each
night on the assigned topic (4-5 sentences). This is to be completed each night
and sent in every Friday for me to
monitor his/her progress. Each student has been given a journal for them to
complete his/her writing in. Students are allowed to illustrate their writing
if desired.
Please work with your child and
aide him/her in the process. Encourage them to add details to their writing. However,
please let him/her sound out and write the sentences himself/herself.
