Hop! Hop! Hop!

Last week we learned all about frogs! To help us get into the mind of a frog, we went outside to hop around like frogs do.

Here we are seeing which student can hop the highest.

Journal Writing Homework

Dear Parents,

Your child received a monthly calendar for your child to work on every night. I have seen your child excel at different reading assignments given to them in class. For some extra nightly homework, I feel it will benefit your child the most to focus on his/her writing skills.

Each night has a different writing prompt for your child to work on. He/ She is to write a paragraph each night on the assigned topic (4-5 sentences). This is to be completed each night and sent in every Friday for me to monitor his/her progress. Each student has been given a journal for them to complete his/her writing in. Students are allowed to illustrate their writing if desired.

Please work with your child and aide him/her in the process. Encourage them to add details to their writing. However, please let him/her sound out and write the sentences himself/herself.

Thank you for your continual support in your child’s education!

Peep Science

To celebrate spring, this week we are doing a different peep science experiment each day.

On Monday we placed five peeps in different solutions. One cup had water, one had vinegar, one had apple juice, one had Coca-Cola, and the last had laundry detergent. We then made a hypothesis about which solution would dissolve the peep the fastest or even at all!

Every day this week we will observe how our peeps are doing and if any start to dissolve!

Day one:
Day two:

Day three:

Look at what the detergent has done to the peep!

Day four:

On Tuesday we looked at color changing peeps!
We put two peeps together in a cup and then added sprite and waited to see what would happen.

Look at the cool results:

We then took time to draw our observations.
